Want To Become Better at Blogging?

Want To Become Better at Blogging?

There has been an influx of people out there who are blogging these days. Thousands upon thousands of people are online, all selling products and service. Brick and mortar companies, network marketers, internet marketers, musicians, fashionistas, interior designers, and the list goes on of industries/people with blogs.

I make the case here Why Your Website Needs a Blog right here… but right now, I am going to go over 5 steps that will help push you through the ranks, and become an authority in your niche.

First, I want to start off with this lovely info-graphic from WPVirtuoso that goes over some awesome stats on the basics of blogs. Reason I am going to post this, is I want to get your mind turning, and warmed up to what I am about to share with you!

So now that you see a new blog is created every half second, you will understand the reasoning WHY you need to learn these 5 Steps To Becoming a Better Blogger, and push ahead of the pack!

Let’s begin!

Step Number 1: Focus on Content

It seems these days that there are people just adding to the noise. Do not be one of those people….

I am not claiming to be an expert or guru or anything like that, but I do recognize noise when I see it.

There are countless amount of people who write just for the sake of writing.

Do not be one of those people. I also am seeing over-saturation of certain concepts, which is a great segue into the next concept.

Step Number 2: Be Fresh

I know this may seem to be a little vague, but let me explain…

With marketing, the greatest campaigns of the past are ones which broke attention. Simply meaning, they made people ACTUALLY think twice about what they were seeing, and pay attention to the content by breaking the almost zombie like state consumers are in.

Take into consideration we are bombarded by around 5,000 ads a day, says CBC.com, now how are you going to stand out from the rest? Some great examples of breaking attention are the Old Spice Ads, the Budweiser whaaaattsssssuuuuppp campaign, and the most recent Volvo epic split campaign.

So, if you are in the business of driving traffic on your website for the purpose of making a sale, why wouldn’t you apply the same methods these multi-billion dollar advertising agency use, and separate yourself from the other 157,000,000 blogs…

Step Number 3: Have a List of Ideas.

One of the biggest hurdles bloggers today face, is running out of things to talk about – when that happens, they then revert back to just writing for the sake of writing, and become part of the noise I was speaking of in Number 1.

This may be one of the most important concepts you can keep in your arsenal. It is simple, but effective.
I have a great resource you can check out right here, that gives you some insight on where to find inspiration when blogging.

Step Number 4: Be Real.

Here is another very powerful strategy, just be real. Be you. People love honesty.

If you look in the music industry for example, the artists that go the furthest, with the longest staying power are the ones who create music built on honesty in their lives.

Blogging/business is no different, the businesses that go the furthest, are the ones built upon the building blocks of honesty.
Be your own voice, it’s perfect. Trust me.

Step Number 5: Get Involved.

Become an active participant in the blogosphere! Leave comments on other peoples blogs which you enjoy, follow newsletters of your favorite bloggers, communicate with them.

Most people operate their lives on getting before they get, but unfortunately that is not the way ‘it works.’ You must GIVE before you RECEIVE. Give of yourself to others in the blogosphere, and it will come around back to you!

Conclusion.

While there are over a hundred million blogs out there on the interwebs, and every half second 2 million new posts are being created, a large majority of those fall to the wayside.

If you follow these 5 steps to becoming a better blogger, it will most definitely put yourself on pace to become an authority in your niche. Internet marketing and blogging is not an exact science, for it is constantly evolving, but there are general principles to follow throughout that hold the test of time.

These 5 steps to becoming a better blogger are some of them.
I wish you all the best in your quest for growing yourself, your business, and your bank account.

Take it and run with it…
