Content Marketing For Startups & Bloggers

Content Marketing For Startups & Bloggers

There currently is an influx of people who are launching products, brands, businesses, and opportunities – all of which expect that the entire world will be all over them like a hotcake. It simply is not the case. While competition may be high, one way to separate yourself from the rest of the pack, and increase awareness of your product, is through the power of content marketing.

What is Content Marketing?

Straight definition: Content marketing is the marketing and business process for creating and distributing relevant and valuable content to attract, acquire, and engage a clearly define and understood target audience – with the objective of driving profitable customer action. If you click this little link right here, you will see what one of the greatest ways to get this content across to your target audience.

3 Benefits of Content Marketing

1. Growth: If you have just launched a brand/company – or have an existing brand or company that you would like to grow, content marketing is a very viable solution. 2. Trust: Who do you leave your children to when you need a baby sitter, a person you trust or someone you do not?Why would you go see a movie, because of an advertisement on the radio, or because a friend you trusted told you to?As a consumer, who would you rather buy from, a company you trust, or one you do not? Content marketing builds a relationship, and that relationship builds trust, and that trust leads to sales! 3. Leads: Through content marketing, your business/brand/offer will gain a sizable amount more of leads than the competition. 86% of marketers from the UK are using content marketing to generate more leads. 31% of marketing budgets of these brands are being used for content marketing – a sizable sum!

How To Content Market

It is actually a pretty simple concept that can be broken down like this: 1. Define your target audience. 2. Find content this audience enjoys. 3. Market that content to the audience. Once the target audience has been defined, and content has been found to promote – the content marketer should follow these 3 effective pointers.

1. Start with the End in Mind

Before you start marketing content, ask yourself: “what do I expect to achieve from doing this?” “what is my intention of marketing this content?” Are you marketing content as strictly a strategy to build back-links, or are you wanting to have users buy from you? How many users are going to opt-in to your offer, per article? You must set the intention of these numbers, it is extremely important. Be clear that the content you put across on your different channels, creates both a brand image for yourself AND for the product you are promoting

2. Consistency

Nothing worse than clicking on a YouTube video wanting to watch a video, and you end up getting Rick Rolled! People feel the same when you market content to them, but it does not have a consistent message to your brand. Your content marketing, if geared toward a certain product/service, should have a clear message.

3. Use Calls To Action

Wherever you have spread the content, make sure you have a call to action that links back to the origins of the content for 2 dominant reasons: 1. You will gain more backlinks for SEO purposes 2. You will gain more traffic! If you do not do this, the traffic will go to the host site, rather than yours.

Conclusion

The Power Content Marketing is an extremely effective means to promote, and if done properly by providing value, will set you apart from your competition. The biggest cost to content marketing is time. Writing compelling content, is also a skill that takes time to learn. The greatest marketers of our day, did not just wake up and start writing ad copy… If your budget permits, you can outsource your content marketing, and merely pay someone to do it for you. A good place to look to hire someone, could possibly be college/university students. You could pay them say, 10-20$ per article, and you receive content, they receive experience to place on a resume. Win-Win. Take it and run with it…
